MEME REFERENCE

Leo Oscars Meme

Use to celebrate someone finally receiving recognition that was famously delayed or repeatedly missed.

What it expresses

A long sequence of near-wins ends with the overdue prize at last.

Example

After years of doing invisible work, a colleague finally wins the company award and the team posts this.

When not to use it

A newcomer wins on their first attempt without any history of near misses; the long-awaited subtext is absent.

• finally won
• overdue recognition
• award
• Leonardo DiCaprio
