Homelander applause

Use when receiving approval that feels forced, performative, or unsettling

What it expresses: The approval is generated by external pressure rather than genuine acceptance
Example: The boss finishes a threatening speech and everyone claps because nobody wants to be first to stop; post this unsettling applause.
When not to use it: Colleagues spontaneously celebrate a well-earned achievement; genuine warmth lacks the coercive undertone.
