MEME REFERENCE

My precious Gollum

Use for jealous, possessive attachment to something a person treasures and refuses to share or surrender.

What it expresses

Value becomes obsession, turning the owner defensive toward anyone who approaches the prized object.

Example

Your sibling asks to borrow the last piece of cake you saved, and you clutch the container while replying 'my precious.'

When not to use it

You happily offer an item to anyone who needs it; generosity is the opposite of Gollum-like possession.
