Use as a disgusted, offended, or stubbornly rejecting response to an unwanted suggestion or offering.

What it expresses: The recipient meets what is presented with visible contempt and refusal.
Example: Someone proposes replacing the good coffee with an instant powder, and you answer with Smudge's appalled stare.
When not to use it: A friend offers exactly the option you requested and you accept happily; disgust would communicate the opposite.
