Mean Girls - Stop Trying to Make Fetch Happen

Use to tell someone to stop forcing a phrase, trend, plan, nickname, or idea that plainly is not catching on.

What it expresses: Repeated promotion cannot manufacture the social acceptance the advocate wants.
Example: A coworker uses the same awkward project nickname in every meeting despite nobody adopting it, so the team sends this.
When not to use it: A new term has spread organically and everyone already uses it; declaring it impossible would lag behind reality.
