# And everybody loses their minds — Meme Lab

Use when people panic over one event while tolerating equally serious problems elsewhere.

- What it expresses: Public outrage targets an arbitrary trigger despite prior acceptance of comparable harm.
- Example: Nobody questioned months of overtime, but one canceled snack delivery caused a company-wide revolt.
- When not to use it: Avoid when the new event is genuinely more serious than everything that preceded it.
