# I am the Senate — Meme Lab

Use when one person arrogantly claims to embody an institution, group, rule-making body, or all legitimate authority.

- What it expresses: Individual power erases the distinction between the leader and the system meant to constrain them.
- Example: The club president rejects a vote by saying their opinion is the club's opinion, prompting members to post this.
- When not to use it: A spokesperson accurately reports a decision made through the group's normal vote; representation is not monopolized authority.
