# Impressive, very nice — Meme Lab

Use for praise that is outwardly controlled but loaded with envy, rivalry, status comparison, or barely concealed insecurity.

- What it expresses: A polished compliment masks the speaker's discomfort at being outclassed.
- Example: A colleague shows an exceptionally elegant portfolio, and you jokingly reply 'Impressive, very nice' while comparing it to your own.
- When not to use it: You warmly congratulate a friend with no competitive subtext; a jealous appraisal would add an unintended edge.
