# Amateurs — Meme Lab

Use to one-up a displayed mistake, failure, or extreme behavior by revealing an even more spectacular version.

- What it expresses: A supposedly notable example is dismissed as amateur beside the speaker's superior level of chaos or failure.
- Example: A friend says they missed one deadline, and you reply with the time you missed an entire registration window: 'Amateurs.'
- When not to use it: Someone asks a beginner for help learning a skill; belittling them offers no humorous escalation and is needlessly hostile.
