# Soldiers hold up society — Meme Lab

Use to show that overlooked workers, systems, or institutions carry the burden that lets everyone else function normally.

- What it expresses: Visible society rests on a small, strained support layer receiving little recognition.
- Example: During a smooth launch, someone credits the two operations engineers quietly keeping every service alive with this image.
- When not to use it: A celebrated leader receives ample support while contributing little infrastructure; placing them underneath society would invert the burden.
