# Monkey looking away — Meme Lab

Use when someone awkwardly avoids eye contact after being implicated, caught, contradicted, or reminded of their own behavior.

- What it expresses: Attention is deliberately redirected away from an uncomfortable fact that applies to the person reacting.
- Example: In a group chat, someone complains about late replies immediately after leaving everyone on read for a week; answer with this reaction.
- When not to use it: A friend misses the conversation because they are genuinely focused on an urgent phone call, not evading an embarrassing point.
