# milking the cow — Meme Lab

Use milking the cow when attention or resources are distributed unfairly while a critical need is ignored.

- What it expresses: Neglect and dependency: the cow being exploited long after the useful supply should be exhausted represents a moment where attention or resources are distributed unfairly while a critical need is ignored.
- Example: For example, the redesign gets funding while the broken login waits; the visual analogy is the cow being exploited long after the useful supply should be exhausted, signaling that attention or resources are distributed unfairly while a critical need is ignored.
- When not to use it: Avoid when the important need is already properly supported; the cow being exploited long after the useful supply should be exhausted would incorrectly signal that attention or resources are distributed unfairly while a critical need is ignored.
