# Quit Having Fun — Meme Lab

Use to mock a scold who condemns other people's harmless enjoyment because it is unfashionable, unserious, or not to their taste.

- What it expresses: Personal dislike is presented as a moral rule that everyone else must stop having fun.
- Example: Someone writes an essay about why adults should not enjoy a silly game, and fans answer with this comic.
- When not to use it: An activity is harming participants or bystanders; criticism based on real consequences is not joyless gatekeeping.
